On Oct 8, Mr.Jianmin Jin attended Global Climate and Energy Project (GCEP) Research Symposium 2013 in Stanford University.In the morning plenary session, Gro Brundtland, vice Chair of United Nations Foundation, former U.N. Special Envoy on Climate Change and former Prime Minister of Norway gave a speech of "Climate Change and Our Common Future"; Richard Swanson, Founder and former President and Chief Technology Officer of SunPower, Consulting Professor of Precourt Institute for Energy, Stanford University,shared his "Lessons from the Journey from Academia to Commercial Markets";Besides,JB Straubel, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Tesla Motors and Ira Ehrenpreis, General Partner & Technology Partners,talked about " The Tesla Story – Perspectives from the CTO and VC".

In the break,Jianmin Jin communicated briefly with Dr. Sally Benson,Chair of the symposium and Director of GCEP, Stanford University and expressed the hope that some day Dr. Sally Benson could plan an academic trip to China and exchange views with Chinese peers.

During the symposium, an old friend of USCFIE and a senior engineer,Ping -Sun Yu, Ph.D held talks with Jianmin Jin about talents exchanges between US & China in the petroleum industry.
